INDEPENDENT Yorkshire MEP Godfrey Bloom has taken part in the York and Ainsty Hunt - riding one of the oldest horses in hunting.
The former UKIP MEP rode Mr Cracker as the horse celebrated his 30th birthday on New Year’s Day, when the hunt set off from Howden.
Mr Bloom said that Mr Cracker, owned by Mary Rook, was still as keen as ever, despite his age.
“I suspect he is the oldest horse still hunting today,” he said. “He doesn’t jump five bar gates but still jumps three bar gates.”
