A MOTHER-OF-TWO is appealing to fitness fans and donors to support a marathon workout session to raise funds for a five-year-old girl battling a rare cancer.
Tina Fiorentino, of Northallerton, said dozens of people have signed up to take part in a zumbathon lead by instructor Helen Brown at Hambleton Forum on Sunday, January 26, from 11am to 1.30pm.
She said she had been inspired to raise funds after reading about RAF Leeming Community School pupil Fraja’s Simpson battle with MYCN-amplified neuroblastoma.
Fraja’s family is attempting to raise £500,000 for pioneering treatment in the US should she suffer a relapse.
Mrs Fiorentino said: “I really want to do my bit and raise as much as I can for Fraja. She’s one amazing little girl.
“I have two daughters myself. They’re grown up now and I can’t imagine what Fraja’s poor mum, Michelle, is going through.
“She is an amazing mum and has great strength and courage to keep going.”
Mrs Fiorentino said as Charlie Taylor Gararge Services had agreed to pay for the venue, all monies raised would go to the Fraja Ellie Appeal.
Residents or businesses wanting to donate raffle prizes or join the session, can email tinafiorentino@hotmail.com
