PLANS to turn a former social club in York into new homes look set for approval.
Proposals to build 12 one-bedroom flats on the site of the Shepherd Group club in Holgate Road, which is now vacant, will be discussed by City of York Council’s area planning sub-committee. Officers have recommended granting permission.
A report said the scheme would bring a redundant building back to profitable use.
Developers would contribute £4,080 to improve nearby public spaces such as West Bank Park or Holgate allotments.
It would also include car-parking spaces, with both the club building and a four-storey extension being converted.
