GOOGLE Charlie’s Angels and you will be bombarded by firms of that name offering everything from baby fitness classes and dog grooming to cleaning services.
Of course the most famous were TV’s female sleuths from LA. But in York we have our very own Charlie’s Angels and they knock all others into a cocked hat.
Because Pat Hardy, Dianne Fairclough, Brenda Dobson, and Judith Murgatroyd, all in their seventies, have raised just short of £100,000 for the York branch of the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.
The group earned their nickname in honour of York MS sufferer Charlie Harrison, who was cared for by Dianne and Pat. Now they have been afforded the MS Society’s highest accolade to recognise their outstanding efforts.
It’s called the Shining Star Award and is surely well named, because that’s precisely how we would describe Pat, Dianne, Brenda and Judith.
Well done to them.
