EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a crash on the outskirts of York during rush hour.
The accident happened at 5.10pm on the A64 at Grimston Bar, on the westbound carriageway, North Yorkshire Police said.
Although emergency services initially believed five vehicles crashed due to reports from the scene, police have since confirmed just two were involved in the collision.
The road was blocked but was cleared by about 6.30pm.
The accident caused lengthy delays but no one was seriously injured.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service said they sent three ambulances and additional paramedics.
They said one patient was treated at the scene and another was taken to York Hospital, both with neck and back pains.
