STAFF at a car dealership are racing to reach their fundraising target in support of the York Special Care Baby Unit support group.
But they won’t be in motors speeding around the city as the York Vantage Toyota team signs up to run this year’s York 10k. All 11 members of staff at the dealership, in Clifton Moor Gate, have put themselves forward for the task.
However with only five places it will be put to a public vote to decide who will run the race. Lena Fowles, from the York Vantage team, said: “We’ll be launching the vote on our Facebook page and are looking forward to finding out who is actually going to be doing the run. The Special Care Baby Unit support group is a really worthy cause. At our dealership alone 30 per cent of the parents have had help from the unit, so it is very much a charity that is close to our home.”
The team aim to raise a total of £2,500 for the cause. To sponsor them visit
