POLICE were called to reports of an axe attack in a Harrogate car park – only to find it had been a shoot for a horror film.
A member of the public reported three men, one holding what appeared to be an axe, standing over a fourth who was covered in blood, at about 3.20pm, near Prince of Wales Mansions, yesterday.
North Yorkshire Police and paramedics were called to the scene but there was no evidence of an attack. Officers performed door-to-door inquiries, and at just after 4pm discovered a group of young men in a nearby house who said they had been making a film.
