NOW that we have arrived in 2014, it is nice to recall the good things that happened to us, thanks to the many people who are kind to old folk.

In 2013, I nominated for the One-Stop Shop in Walmgate for the York Community Pride awards. Such a lovely bunch of people work there. They were runners-up.

The other entry was our ‘Angels’, the wonderful nurses from Clementhorpe. And last but not forgotten is Morrison’s supermarket on Foss Islands Road. The store gives all folks a lot of help and the café is very good value.

So let’s say to all staff of the above, and not forgetting The Press for providing us with news of York, Happy New Year to everybody. York is a very good place to live.
