A free event highlighting research carried out at the University of York will be held tomorrow.
The York Talks event is a series of 15-minute presentations by professors and academics from the university and will be opened by new Vice-Chancellor Professor Koen Lamberts.
The programme includes subjects from politics to linguistics and philosophy, the role of the rarest element in earth in cancer treatments, book burning as a form of censorship and the benefits of subjecting politicians and their decisions to philosophical scrutiny. There will also be a chance to ask questions after each session.
Joan Concannon, director of external relations at the university, said: “York Talks will help us share and explain our research to a wide audience of academics, researchers and the general public. The event aims to explain, challenge and inspire.
“No prior knowledge is required, just a natural sense of curiosity.”
The event is held at the Berwick Saul Building at Heslington West campus between 9.15am and 5.30pm, and entry is by free ticket only.
