A GROUP of medical students in York is organising the city’s second Pre-Hospital Care Conference.
The event will help teach other student doctors, nurses and paramedics about the work of first aiders, paramedics and on-call doctors.
The conference will take place at the University of York on January 18 and 19. It will include talks on military pre-hospital care, education, and even a fire and ambulance service MAJAX demonstration off the aftermath of a road accident.
The conference is the second to be held in York, and is part of the Hull York Medical School’s Pre-Hospital Care programme, set up by medical student Abilius Wong.
The programme sees medical students trained as community first responders, organises talks for students on parts of pre-hospital care, and sees the students train members of the public in CPR.
