RESIDENTS and businesses in the Hambleton district have less than two weeks left to have their say on their council’s next budget.
Hambleton District Council has lost £1.6 million in funding in recent years – almost 30 per cent of the Government support it previously received – and expects to have to cut 21 per cent more over the next two years.
It is also asking people how much council tax they believe they should pay ahead of setting their 2014/15 budget, with the authority currently proposing to freeze it.
The budget consultation at hambleton.gov.uk/surveys/budget runs until January 17, and paper copies can also be collected from council offices in Easingwold, Northallerton and Stokesley.
