RESIDENTS in Selby were this week unable to pay their council tax due to problems with the council’s computer systems.
The problem was reported early on Monday morning, and was later revealed to be a software issue which stopped the authority being able to accept or process payments.
A council spokesman said: “I’d like to apologies for any inconvenience this caused.
“We worked hard to fix the problem as quickly as possible. Everything is back up and running again. Many people may find that making payments online is the easier thing to do, and you can do that at the Selby District Council website.”
The system was repaired by early afternoon.
