AUTHOR Gervase Phinn will share his tales of life as a schools inspector in the Yorkshire Dales at an event in North Yorkshire next month.

The writer, who is best known for his autobiographical novels set in the Dales, taught in several schools in the area for 14 years before becoming an education advisor and inspector.

He has also worked on a range of TV and radio shows and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a patron of tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire.

An Evening With Gervase Phinn will be held at Terrington village hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 8, and has been organised by Terrington Arts in association with Rural Arts On Tour, as part of its Made In Yorkshire spring season.
