MY HUSBAND and I wish to respond to the letter about Christmas lunch in your edition of January 7.
We spent our fifth Christmas Day lunch at The Lord Nelson in Nether Poppleton and have only good comments to make.
Our hosts (Hilary and Keith) were, as usual, very welcoming; the staff were efficient and friendly; the ambience was warm; the food was excellent and piping hot and extremely good value for money (far cheaper than in the centre of York).
Perhaps people should not tar all venues with the same brush!
