WHAT A PANTOMIME! On Monday this week, a party of us took the granddaughters and their parents to see Aladdin & the Twankeys at York Theatre Royal.
Berwick Kaler and the whole cast were brilliant and what a wonderful show in every respect; there can’t be a better one anywhere.
After the show, we decided to walk to Marygate car park via the riverside footpath. Unbeknown to us the floodgates had been closed.
Having walked all that way, our options were to retrace our steps and go by Bootham or climb over the gate. So in our best bib and tucker and with a good deal of heaving and shoving, we all climbed over the gate.
My husband, who had intended going that way earlier, had been stopped by a kind lady who told him there was no exit to Marygate. Lucky him.
Surely there should be a notice at the start of Dame Judi Walk to prevent a predicament like ours happening?
