TWO deserving newspaper deliverers were picked as the winners of The Press Deliverer Of The Year award.
Anthony Murphy, 50, who does a round in Tadcaster with his stepson Adam Hawksworth, joined Adam Livingston, 17, who delivers in Huntington, in winning the title.
Both winners were delighted to have been nominated by their customers, especially as both of the rounds cover numerous elderly customers who depend on their regular delivery of the paper.
They were each presented with their prize, a new bike to the value of £300 at Cycle Street in Layerthorpe, who sponsored the competition.
Paul Coleman, of The Press home delivery team, said: “Both Adam and Anthony are worthy winners of this year’s competition; they are highly respected in their communities and are excellent ambassadors for The Press.”
