A £50 MILLION marina development is to be built on the site of a former paper mill in Selby.
The district council’s planning committee has approved plans by Immowell NV to create 302 homes, shops, leisure facilities and a 32-berth marina where the Rigid Paper mill once operated, next to Selby Canal and the River Ouse.
The decision was made at the same meeting where the first phase of the £300 million Olympia Park development, which will have more than 800 new homes as well as shops, a school, open space and community facilities, was also given the go-ahead for land on Barlby Road.
“This is a clear signal that the district is open for business and ready to take advantage of new opportunities.”
