ON BEHALF of the Rotary Club of York Ainsty I would like to express our thanks to York residents for their support and generosity during our annual Christmas “Santa” tour around York housing estates, and also including bag packing in the Foss Bank Sainsbury’s store.
This year we have raised the magnificent sum of £6,660, which will go towards supporting local community projects, Yorkshire Cancer Research, and Rotary’s International campaign to eradicate polio.
It is also worth noting that we have also helped with the aid to the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan through a scheme called Shelterbox. Rotary Clubs in the UK have donated more than £2.5 million in aid to the Philippines, a wonderful effort.
