A WINNING formula was continued by Acomb Ladies with a convincing 3-1 home Yorkshire League division two success against Garforth.
In an even first-half with few chances, Acomb went in front through skipper Kerry Woods in the 28th minute.
In the final minute, Sally Harrison – returning after becoming a mum – stopped a goal with a rebound off her stick on to her foot. The subsequent penalty stroke was easily saved by ’keeper Sarah Milburn.
With Rachel Linfoot impressing in midfield along side Georgi Wood it did not take long for the Tangerines to increase their advantage through Wendy Watson.
A Kerry Watson short corner strike secured a 3-0 lead which was protected by Paula Ridge, Caroline Beavers and newcomer Charlotte Brown until a late reply in the final minutes.
