THIEVES have stolen jewellery worth about £5,000 from a house in York.
The theft happened from a house in Ashfield Court, in Askham Bar, between Sunday, January 5, and Thursday, January 9.
Items stolen included a gold ring set with an opal and diamonds on the shoulder, gold eternity rings, a gold solitaire diamond ring, and gold bracelets, one with amethyst links and a gold cameo pendant on a gold chain.
They also took a 1939 enamelled shilling on a gold chain and a number of gold chains.
