YORK youngsters are getting down to rehearsals ready for a dance competition next month.
Members of York Breakdance are preparing for their fourth annual Savour the Flavour event which aims to put the city on the hip-hop and youth map.
Last year, more than 500 people from all over the UK attended the event which included breakdance battles.
Leeds-based Shaolin Shadows triumphed in the finals to pick kup the £200 prize, beating Smash Broz from London.
The York dance group is looking for people to take part in Savour the Flavour 4 which will be held on February 9 at Kuda bar and club, formerly The Gallery, in Clifford Street.
The group is encouraging people of all ages to come and discover how easy it is to learn to breakdance.
Savour the Flavour 4 runs from 1pm to 6pm and admission is £3, which can be paid on the day. To find out more about the tournament, visit yorkbreakdance.org
York Breakdance training sessions are held at The Melbourne Centre, in Escrick Street, on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm for adults and Sundays from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
