Heworth ‘B’ posted their first York Conservative Clubs’ Carlsberg UK Snooker League win in nine attempts when defeating Fulford ‘B’ 5-2.
Wayne Pullen, Steve Carroll, Brian Birch and Keith Watkinson sealed the win before Andy Hurley replied. Colin Richardson made it 5-1 then Jim Rollinson (33, 27 bks) gained Fulford’s second point.
Fulford ‘A’ started the second half of the season where they left off with another 4-3 win over Heworth ‘A’ to maintain their unbeaten run at the top.
James Kilmartin and Nick Dyson moved Heworth ahead after Andy Marshall had opened Fulford’s account.
James Lee (25 unfinished break) and Simon England put Fulford ahead only for Steve Burdett to level. It was left to Glen Mountain to win the decider for Fulford in the last game.
Second-placed Malton ‘A’ mauled Bootham ‘B’ 6-1.
Despite conceding 56 points on handicap, Simon Weatherill went into the lead with breaks of 28 and 24 before his opponent had scored en route to a 109-63 triumph. Dominic Spiteri made it 2-0 before Ian Robinson replied.
Steve Beal made it 3-1 but Lionel Barnes should have reduced the arrears. He came from behind needing the last four colours but missed a chance on the pink and Phil Hart took pink and black. Lee Taylor and Darren Pawson completed the rout.
Acomb ‘A’ saw off their ‘B’ team 5-2 to go fourth. Richard Lillie (32 break), Phil Carlton, Nick Marchant (28) and Paul Holmes (black ball win) won the match before Jeff Winter (black ball) and Chris Nicholson replied. Mick Borg (black ball) completed the victory.
