A CLERGYMAN who has dedicated his life to peacemaking around the world is to give a talk on the topic of reconciliation in York as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
Oliver Schuegraf, a Lutheran theologian who ministered at Coventry Cathedral for four years before returning to his native Germany, is an ambassador for The Community of the Cross of Nails, which connects churches damaged by war, including St Martin’s in Coney Street, York.
He will be speaking on Monday in the Chapel of York St John University in Lord Mayor’s Walk. The evening starts with refreshments from 7pm followed by a short act of worship.
“In the year when we mark and mourn the centenary of the First World War, this will be a great opportunity to reflect on how Christians of different denominations can work together as reconcilers and peace-makers,” said a spokeswoman.
