Friends, relatives and former colleagues of a well-loved York woman who died last month aged 65 are planning a celebration of her life.
A memorial service for Sky Ferrey, former PA to the editor at The Press newspaper, York, will take place at St Denys Church, Walmgate, at 11.30am on Wednesday, January 22.
Sky, pictured, passed away in Spain, where she had retired some years ago. A funeral service for her took place there shortly before Christmas.
Francine Clee, deputy editor of the Press, said: “After hearing the news, a number of Sky’s friends in this country wanted the chance to say goodbye to her in a positive, upbeat way to reflect the kind of person she was.
“We hope to see lots of her former colleagues, friends and neighbours at the service.”
People are being encouraged to wear pink, Sky’s favourite colour, at the event, during which a collection will be taken for York Against Cancer.
