An archaeological research project in North Yorkshire covering 4,000 years of history has received a £10,000 grant.
The Heritage Lottery Fund awarded Boroughbridge and District Historical Society the money for the project, focusing on a small area west of the A1 Motorway.
It will examine Neolithic finds, ancient river crossings, Roman remains, 16th century properties on the Newby Hall Estate and the remnants of a Victorian brickworks.
