LIKE many others, I don’t think Stonebow House is a visually appealing building, but will be interested in the decision-making process that the council will have to undertake if it is to demolish it (The Press, January 11).
I have attended and enjoyed many live music performances at Fibbers and The Duchess over the past three decades. These are York’s best medium-sized venues, and if they were to go, York music fans would not have anywhere to see bands which can attract up to several hundred, and that would be a sorry loss.
York needs somewhere bigger than pubs for live music, but smaller than the Barbican or Grand Opera House. Where else would there be if Stonebow House were to go?
