IN-FORM Martin Hood led unbeaten York & District Table Tennis League division two leaders Holgate ‘B’ to their latest success.
Hood proved the scourge of Bootham ‘B’, who were vanquished 8-2.
Meanwhile, Rob Farmery was in top form for Holgate ‘C’ in their 6-4 defeat of relegation rivals Shepherds D.
Pete Corner guested for Bootham ‘C’ and turned in his best performance of the season as his three wins underpinned an 8-2 win over Bootham ‘D’.
Nathan Taylor and Andy Fletcher were in fine form as Shepherds ‘A’ thrashed their ‘B’ team 9-1, while in a re-arranged match, York RI ‘E’ had Sam Imbo to thank for snatching a draw against Tramways.
James Rule remains one of the most consistently solid players in divison one, where three wins steered Coneysthorpe ‘B’ to a convincing 8-2 success over Bootham ‘A’.
Leaders Coneysthorpe ‘A’ had Martin Lowe reinforcing a 7-3 victory over a battling RI ‘C’, while Holgate ‘A’ teased out a close win against RI ‘B’ thanks to Aidan Ranftler.
Thornton-le-Clay strengthened their division three promotion bid after Alan Balmforth and Marious Jautakis starred in a 9-1 win against struggling Shepherds ‘E’.
Peter Taylor excelled for Holgate ‘D’ when beating BT ‘B’ 7-3.
Matt Ayres posted three wins for Bootham ‘F’ in a 5-5 share-all with BT ‘A’.
Burnholme ‘B’ remain the division four pace-setters, but were reliant on a strong performance from Terry Ruane to snatch a draw against RI ‘J’.
