I HAVE recently taken over as chair of Orchard Park Recreation and Community Association in Huntington, and have been surprised by the number of people who have asked me where Orchard Park is.
Unlike Huntington Memorial Hall and Huntington Community Centre, which are both situated on a main road, Orchard Park is surrounded by houses, except for the gates in Badger Paddock.
The present community centre was built on Orchard Park in 1996 and is the home of Orchard Park Pre-school, The Vine Church and a zumba class.
Next Saturday, from 11am to 6pm, we are holding an open day.
There will be free activities and an opportunity to view parish council plans for the redevelopment of some of the public play area.
In addition, the local police team will be doing bike tagging and mobile phone security marking from 3pm to 6pm.
Further information can be found at orchardpark.org.uk To find us, follow the signposts on New Lane or Huntington Road to Kestrel Way (points to Badger Paddock).
