A NORTH Yorkshire MP has signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment in the House of Commons to honour the victims of the Nazi genocide and those who survived.
The 69th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and death camp will be marked on January 27, with thousands of commemorative events being planned. Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones said: “It is an important opportunity to remember the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and I encourage all constituents to mark the day and join the fight against prejudice and intolerance.”
Karen Pollock, the trust’s chief executive, said: “It is important we continue to remember and learn from the appalling events of the Holocaust.”
