THREE people have been taken to hospital after a serious road accident near Driffield.
All three were trapped in their vehicles after the two car crash at about 1.30pm today on Kirkburn Bends, on the A614 between Driffield and Bainton.
In one of the vehicles a man was left with back injuries and a woman with abdominal injuries while in the other car a man had injuries on his right side.
Firefighters had to use hyrdaulic cutters to free them all.
One of the victims was flown to hospital by air ambulance and two others were taken to hospital by road ambulance.
The road was closed after the crash, but reopened at around 5pm today.
