VERGES and gutters along one of York’s busiest stretches of road were spruced up at the weekend as council teams took advantage of a lane closure.
A Highways Agency survey along the stretch of the A64 from Bondhill to Fulford meant one lane was closed to traffic and ensured safer conditions for City of York Council’s cleansing team to get rid of rubbish, silt and litter from the side of the route.
The authority said the clean-up, part of its Smarter York scheme, would also help drainage.
