A YORK artist is brightening up a city street after installing an eclectic window display in a shop.
Mark Hearld has designed the display for the Plaskitt and Plaskitt interiors shop near Micklegate Bar.
The showcase, which shop owner Claire Mullen was thrilled with, will stay for three months but will change and evolve as Mark adds and takes pieces away.
Claire said: “We had some customers ask if we stocked Mark Hearld fabrics, so I contacted him to ask about it and he suggested designing a window display.
“It’s fantastic - it’s a real living piece of art and includes a lot of props from his own home.
“It’s inspired by nature, and is colourful and vibrant, which is nice when it is so dreary outside.”
The window has already attracted plenty of attention, and Claire has spotted passers-by stopping to take pictures of the display. “It’s come full circle as well, because Mark was one of my tutors when I studied for my art foundation course at York College.”
