AN MP has lent his support to a village near York in its bid to have a greater say in planning issues.
Nigel Adams, who represents Selby and Ainsty, has backed Appleton Roebuck’s neighbourhood development plan, which is being driven forward by Acaster Selby Parish Council, after residents and businesses were sent surveys asking for their views on how the area should be developed in future.
More meetings are set to take place soon as part of a consultation process.
Parish councillor Les Rayment said: “We are very appreciative of the support given to us by Nigel Adams and look forward to working with him over the longer term. I’m keen to stress how important the views of local residents and businesspeople are.”
