A YORK woman whose life-changing weight loss was documented in a television programme has started her own health and wellbeing organisation.

Sarah Le Brocq, 31, of Holgate, became determined to lose weight in the months approaching her 30th birthday but, at 24 stone, despaired of the challenge she faced having struggled with her size for years.

Remarkably she managed to lose more than eight stone in a year with the help of specialists on Sky Living’s Fat: The Fight of My Life. She did it with the particular support of well-known American fitness expert Jessie Pavelka.

The show saw Sarah compete in an Olympic-length triathalon and she later ran in the York 10k going from being someone who could barely face looking in the mirror to a confident and active person.

Sarah has been so inspired by her change of lifestyle she has now set up an organisation with friend Polly Bateman called Inspiration 360. It will see them running a series of health and wellbeing seminars to support and inspire people to make changes in their lives.

The star of their first seminar, at Catterick Leisure Centre this Saturday, will be Jessie, who now appears on ITV’s Daybreak. He will be the “inspirational speaker” at the event, which can accommodate 500.

Sarah said: “No matter what your level of fitness is, there’s always something you can change. We are going to have something across the whole platform.

“It’s a great opportunity to meet Jessie. He is in such high demand and is such an inspirational guy and he will give people hints and tips about small changes they can make.”

The event will also include talks from Sarah and Polly as well as a variety of stalls. Tickets to Saturday’s event start at £30. Visit eventbrite.co.uk to buy tickets.
