YORK residents are being reminded they will have to pay if they want an extra green bin this year once the collection service restarts in April.
City of York Council stopped garden waste collections between November and March and will also charge those wanting an additional bin £35 a year, saying funding cuts had made the move necessary and the changes will help it reach a £190,000 savings target for its waste services.
The collections start again in April and residents who want an extra bin should subscribe before April to avoid delays at york.gov.uk/DoItOnline or by phoning 01904 551551.
