IT HAS been a long wait. But the process of converting York’s historic Bonding Warehouse is now almost complete.
The 19th Century building – once a warehouse, more recently a pub, but boarded up since the floods of 2000 – is being converted into four luxury flats.
The starting price for the apartments? A cool £625,000. They will be very nice if you can afford that, no doubt.
Ideally, it would have been good to see this unique building used as some kind of public space. For one reason or another, that never proved possible. But at least it will no longer be an eyesore. And after all these years, that is something to be thankful for.
