A MAN was arrested following a car chase with police.
Officers were tipped off about a black Ford Focus and its three occupants acting suspiciously in Tadcaster shortly after 11.35pm last Thursday.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said the people in the car had got out with one removing his shirt and wrapping it around his face.
The car then drive off with no lights on and, on seeing the police car, sped off.
The car later crashed at Toulston, and its three occupants ran into woodland, where one man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft.
A 23-year-old man from Leeds has since been released on bail.
