THIEVES stole jewellery worth £21,000 from a house in Malt Kiln Lane, Appleton Roebuck.
The items stolen include gold and silver brooches in leaf and frog designs, topaz and amethyst pendants and a rectangular Rotary watch.
Also stolen were gold, chandelier and coral drop earrings, pendants shaped liked a spider’s web, crosses and diamond flowers, and others set with sapphires and amethyst.
The burglary happened on New Year’s Eve.
PC Julie Dallison, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The stolen jewellery has a great deal of sentimental value to the owner as she has inherited it from family members who have since passed away.
“If you have information about those responsible for this burglary, I urge you to contact the police straight away “I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who has been offered any jewellery matching the description of the stolen items and ask them to get in touch.”
