A BUSINESSMAN who opened a mobility shop in Northallerton 30 years ago has returned to the town to expand his current venture.

Alan Garner has opened an MD Mobility independent living showroom in Garthway Arcade.

The new premises are in addition to MD Mobility’s other retail unit in Guisborough.

Mr Garner has worked in the mobility sector for more than three decades and was responsible for setting up the Acorn Medical mobility outlet in Northallerton in the 1980’s.

He sold his original business after several successful years to pursue different business opportunities, but has now returned to the town to open MD Mobility.

Mr Garner said: “It’s great to be back in business in my home town where I was born.”
