TWO North Yorkshire villages have been spruced up with new name signs and noticeboards.
Ingleby Arncliffe and Ingleby Cross in the Hambleton district are on the route of Wainwright’s famous coast-to-coast walk, attracting visitors from across the UK and overseas, with the local parish council drawing up plans to improve the area’s appearance.
Grants from Hambleton District Council and the LEADER funding programme run through the Rural Development Programme for England have allowed new name signs to be placed on the villages’ approach roads together with a new noticeboard on their main street.
Former village school pupil Kayleigh Temple designed an information panel showing most of the parish’s important older buildings, with information provided by ex-parish council chairman Joyce Bean and local graphic designer Paul Gaythorpe preparing the images.
