A PAIR of Shiptonthorpe businesses have pitched in to become the new kit sponsors for the village’s under-14s football team.
Langlands Garden Centre and three60 marketing and pr have lent their support to the team that were promoted to division one of the Hull Boys Sunday League for the first time this season.
The boys, who play at Shiptonthorpe Playing Fields, have been coached and managed by Martin Fisher and Lee Hemsworth since they were seven years old and 13 out of the squad of 16 are original players.
Fisher said: “We’re very grateful to James from Langlands and Tracey from three60 for their generous support and hope the new kit will make us play as smart as we look in this tough division.
“We have a very committed group of lads and we are confident that they will do us and their sponsors proud.”
The club was established in 1972 and fields ten teams from U8s to adults.
