STAMFORD Bridge hit back from a goal down to beat Fulford 3-1 in the City of York Girls’ Under-14s Football League.
Goalkeeper Georgia Stanton made a terrific point-blank save to keep third-placed Bridge on level terms at the interval, but the hosts fell behind early in the second half.
They immediately went on the offensive and were rewarded in the 46th minute with a well taken equaliser.
Bridge midfielder Emma Nelson won the ball on the edge of the Fulford box, beat her marker and rifled a shot into the back of the net.
Two minutes later, a goalbound shot was only partially saved and striker Ellie Parkin seized on a half chance to make it 2-1.
Fulford looked to hit back but player of the match Jess Alston helped repel the threat.
The victory was wrapped up in the 55th minute Bridge captain Olivia Cant stabbed the ball over the line.
