A 73-YEAR-OLD man from York has been arrested by police investigating allegations of child sex abuse at three former Leeds schools.
The man was arrested in November by officers from Leeds Child Safeguarding Unit and later released on police bail pending further inquiries, a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said today.
“It follows allegations from two former pupils at Thorn Primary School, North Farm Road, Leeds, of incidents between 1978 and 1980,” he said.
“The investigation is also focusing on Brownhill Secondary School around 1962 and Coldcotes Junior Boys (also known as Coldecotes Primary) between 1963 and 1972/1973. All three schools no longer exist.”
Detective Inspector Lawrence Bone said: "Our investigation is ongoing and we would appeal for anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation to contact us immediately.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Ashley Roberts of the Leeds Child Safeguarding Unit on 0113 241 3535 or via 101 or by email to ashley.roberts@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
