JUDGING by the increased number of letters in The Press from councillors blowing their own trumpet and increasing attacks on other parties, I think election campaigning has started to build up towards 2015.
For the past two local elections I must admit that, just like the other 14 people out of every 100 eligible voters, I voted for Labour.
At last after a number of years, with the assistance of the medicine bottle marked up Reality, I have finally come to my senses and I will follow the other 76 out of every 100.
Labour councillors have shown in office that they are only interested in the views of residents if that view is the same as their own.
I think a few more independents would be nice, or perhaps a couple of new parties. How about the York Residents’ Party or we could have the Car Drivers’ Party and, to avoid leaving anyone out, the Cycling Party?
I would be very happy to give support to any suitable candidates in my area.
Philip Sunley, Paddock Way, York.
