FIRST it was the bus service, now many people in rural North Yorkshire face losing their GP surgery in April when a scheme to subsidise small practices in remote areas is set to be scrapped.
The Prime Minister had said he would “personally” look into the implications of axing The Minimum Practice Income Guarantee (MPIG), but with two months to the deadline, we still haven’t heard a squeak out of him.
Some people dream of living in the country, but this Government’s austerity cuts are increasingly making it the stuff of nightmares for the old and vulnerable who do live it, and who are becoming ever more isolated. We’re really not all in this together, Mr Cameron.
