ARMED police have arrested a man in a York road on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
North Yorkshire Police said the 32-year-old man, who was of no fixed address, was arrested in Askham Way at about 9.30am yesterday.
Officers found eight wraps of suspected heroin on him along with an amount of cash, said a force spokeswoman. "These items have been seized as part of the investigation."
She said the man had been bailed to allow for further inquiries.
Earlier,a police officer tweeted that the firearms team had stopped a male acting suspiciously in the Askham Lane area, and a man was arrested after a short chase on foot,
