FIREFIGHTERS were called to a York fish and chip shop last night after a bucket of scraps caught fire.
Crews from York and Acomb tackled the blaze, which happened at the rear of a shop in Bishopthorpe Road at 9.59pm.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said the fire, which was caused accidentally by an accumulation of fat, led to some smoke damage at the shop.
