Special Constable interest
MORE THAN 3,500 people have visited a website to find out more about becoming a Special Constable with North Yorkshire Police.
The new recruitment campaign for the volunteer roles – which have the same powers as regular police – was launched last week to increase the number of officers on the street.
Almost 400 people have so far shown further interest in applying, with residents in Harrogate and York showing the most interest.
