A YOUNG woman from Knaresborough has died in a road accident near Manchester, but her toddler son has escaped with just cuts and bruises.
Twenty-two-year-old Georgina Taylor was left with serious head and neck injuries after a crash on the A627 (M) in Oldham on Saturday. Her 13-month-old son Rory was in the car with her escaped with just minor injuries.
Georgina - known as George - lost control of her car and crashed into trees on the A627 (M) southbound, close to the junction with Elk Mill just before 9am on Saturday.
She was taken to hospital with but died from her injuries later on Saturday evening.
Paying tribute, her family said: “Georgina Lauren Taylor, known to her friends and family as George, was a loving mother, daughter and sister and leaves behind her 13 month old son, Rory."
