A post office in York is to open for longer and offer a car tax renewal service as part of a big revamp.
Woodthorpe Post Office, in Moorcroft Road, is to extend its opening hours by nine hours a week.
The shop will also be refurbished with an open-plan layout with two serving positions.
New hours at the modernised branch will be 7am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday, and 9am to noon on Sundays.
The branch will be closed for the refurbishment from 5.30pm on Monday, March 3, until it reopens at 1pm on Wednesday, March 12.
During the closure, the nearest alternative branches will be in Bishopthorpe and Acomb.
Area manager Julie Kemp said: “We understand how important Post Office services are to the people in and around this area of York and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community.”
